The second e-IRG Open Workshop in 2019 will take place in Finland at the Helsinki City Center, in the "House of Sciences", December 4-5, 2019. The workshop will be co-organised by the Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture in the framework of the Finnish Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
The workshop programme is a forward looking composition of important topics, in line with the priorities of Finland's EU Presidency and latest developments in the e-Infrastructure domain.
The first session of the workshop (afternoon of 4 December) will address the life-long learning and EU skills agenda, along with the e-Infrastructure-related developments of Artificial Intelligence in Europe. The second session (morning of 5 December) will discuss the aspect of EU activities in Cyber Security and the third session (afternoon of 5 December) will cover updates on EU policy initiatives and in particular the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) and the European High-Performance Computing Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC).
The following panel discussions are planned:
- EuroHPC in the context of European competence development
- AI National strategies and activities
- Presentations of lifelong learning activities in different countries
As always, the workshop and the connected social event provides a good opportunity for networking.
