e-IRG: The e-Infrastructure Reflection Group is a European self-regulated and independent body of national delegates and the European Commission. It was founded in 2003 and provides strategic advice and guidance on the development of a European e-Infrastructure for science and research. The two main objectives of e-IRG are the establishment of e-IRG as main advisory body on e-Infrastructures internationally and the development as the coordination platform for all components of European e-Infrastructures. To stimulate and facilitate the presentation of all different components to users as integrated e-Infrastructure service e-IRG promotes the e-Infrastructure Commons, which is the political, technological and administrative framework for an easy, integrated and cost-effective shared use of distributed resources across Europe.
