  • Final version of the Blue Paper on Data Management published

    e-IRG has published a Blue Paper on data management. It provides an assessment of Europe’s e-Infrastructure service portfolio, and identifies the opportunities and challenges involved. Blue Paper reports on current trends and issues and sets out policy recommendations for several key areas, especially for ESFRI (European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures) projects.
  • An overview on cloud computing for research and science published

    e-IRG has published a report which presents cloud computing in a holistic way, elaborates its applicability for research and science, investigates related policy aspects and provides policy recommendations. The future of cloud computing for research and science appears to be hybrid: the first service is a hybrid e-Infrastructure cloud for research composed by a distributed community cloud.
  • e-IRG Policy Paper on Scientific Software published

    Maintaining and improving the scientific software base has become an urgent issue. Many applications depend on legacy software that is difficult to maintain and difficult to run efficiently on current and future e-Infrastructures. The e-IRG Policy Paper on Scientific Software aims to laying the ground for a European software strategy.
